"... Play bass is not a job, is a way of being ..." you're always there on the back, in second or third line. Often  she too does not see you, obscured by the dark shadow of the frontman. Lulls the beacon that blinds you. You are making walking lines eclipsed by riffs and solos, but if you quit play one bar the stage and the hall falls on deaf ears. Sometimes you are immersed in the liquid sound,  you don't hear any voice, not even yours, but ... "... I don't play bass, bass is playing me ..." 'cause when you slap a G in the fourth string you feel the wood vibrating in your belly, and the air coming from the cone dries the sweat on your back: they call it  "Groove" ...

"...suonare il basso  non è una professione, è un modo di essere..." sei sempre li, nel fondo, in seconda o terza fila. Sovente neanche Lei ti vede perché l'ombra del frontman ti oscura e scansi il faro che ti acceca. Fai linee walk eclissate  da riff e soli, ma  se svanisci due secondi palco e sala cadono nel vuoto. A volte sei immerso nel liquido sound, non senti una voce, neppure la tua, ma ... "... io non suono il basso, è il basso che suona me..." perché quando picchi un sol  in quarta corda senti  il legno che ti vibra in pancia, e l'aria del cono che ti asciuga il sudore nella schiena: lo chiamano "Groove" ...
